TKAM

chap 12-15
JEM.....

well today was okay I guess but I wouldn't call it my best day I would say it was but its kinda getting annoying how Scouts always dressing and acting like a guy but thank god aunt Alexander came hopefully she can change Scout to be more Lady like but hey if shes able to. she was all my respect because its gonna end up being one of the most hardest jobs shes ever gonna face because mainly Scout not gonna let her force her to wear dresses and talk with manners. but one thing i just don't get is how Scout is in a way acting depressing I its not that hard to get dills not coming but still i think theirs more to it but i just don't know what but when i find out oh and believe me i will find out ..... and plus I for some reason i cant stop thinking bout Mrs.doubose shes still stuck in my head even though she was meant i don't think she deserved to die she could have made it i know she died happy tho well that's all that's matter well that i think matter

TKAM

CHAP 6, Mayella Ewell

I have never been so insulted for god sakes what does the old man of a lawyer even know about friends i have friends sure I do I got ...hmmmm..... that's a tough one ... I know I have my daddy hes my friend sure he is just 'cuz hes family don't mean he cant be my friend. Well the most thing I'm hating about that old man is that he doesn't believe me i think its because he thinks hes better then me how could he i mainly think its becuase im poor well thats still no reason to act how he is tord me....

TKAM POST TWO

Chap 6, Jem

Oh my gosh the freakiest thing happened today I found my lost pants repaired in a tree but that's not the freaky part I found them outside the old Radley place. the thing is when we ran from the house they were left stuck in the fence I'm saying if they were able to be taken off the fence then why wasn't I able to get free because what had happened was that when we header over to the old Radley house I me my sister Scout and her friend Dill well we began looking in the loose shutters of the house when we say a figure of a shadowed man with a hat. and so when we took off running we heard a... a..... a gun shot but not like a small pistol but more along the line of one of those hunting season shot gun but when the sound hit our ears it wasn't just any sound it was staying there just ringing in my ears and when i was at the fence i thought i was a goner because out of everyone i was the only one who had gotten stuck under the fence i was so mad because I had to walk home with embarrassment and shame.

TKAM CHAP 10-12

Perspective... Mrs. Dubose

Those Raggedy little children of Atticus crossed in front of my house again I cant believe the nerve of those kids but the second time around is when it hit, those darn kids took of all the flower heads my babies. Oh my god i just wanted to strangle them but sense they not mine I wasn't about to go and make the little time I had left worse by starting problems. Well its not gonna make my mouth keep shut ether. Well I don't know what I'm gonna do that bratty little son of his unleashed peril on my garden.

I'm so glade those kids of Mr. Atticus ain't mine because if they were that little girl of his wouldn't running around how shes dressed I would have more in a suitable manner wearing dresses not overalls. I beat if they old Finch woman was still around she wouldn't let her children running around how they are i beat she would have pulled them more together. And Scout would be dressed more lady like, more inconspicuous.

I know I could be cruel at time but that's still no reason for Jeramey to have reacted the way he did. I think it was inaudible and very immature. I think that the punishment wasn't to make him feel bad in the end but to allow me to not die using drugs but still as long as i finished how I wanted to I'm a winner.

In a way I think that little old Jeramey contradicted how hes supposed to be acting. All boys are supposed to act like a gentlemen with or without someone having to tell them so. Yet still i get no respect nothing all I get are my flowers killed and a crushed Baton on my lawn.

Post Three TKAM

Chap 8-9.... Francis,
I just don't understand why our family keeps that good for nothing TOM BOY. Seshh couldn't she act like a normal girl you know that basics cooking, cleaning, and teaching. But NO she wants to go and act like a guy doesn't mi uncle know how to put his daughter in check for god sake she punches like me if my grandma let me punch someone. I thought my grandmama told scouts father how Scout should be acting. She said that she entrusted him. but still I'm debating the fact of should I learn to cook or not my grandma thinks I should because women love a man who cooks. One word i just happen not to be able to forget is Isolate its because at dinner its gonna be little old scout all by her self and I'm gonna get to finaly sit at the big table with all the other adults. To think i thought it was gonna be fun being acquainted and everything but NO scout has to go and punch me in the face. Shes bringing a decrease to Maycomb and i don't wanna be he to see when it looks bad.

To Kill A Mockingbird

Post One
Chapter three, Burris Ewell:

I always knew that teachers were mean I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. It happend on the second day of school well more like my ninth or tenth but still thats not the point. Anyways what had happend was when the little girl had walked into the classroom. Wait whats her name .. scout I think it is well around the time she walked in was about the same time the old lady had screamed something about how I had critters crawlin in my hair well I mean its not like ther gonna do any harm well when the dumb short stump said aint you ever seen a cootie at first I thought he was on my side bethen he went on the mean old city girls side. I think the part that got me the most mad was when she done told me to go and put bleach on my head as well oil or what ever it was I mean what does she want me to do cook the little guys. And to think that this year was gonna be the year I move on to the second grade well its not like it matters its not like the cheif's aint gonna put my daddy out he never does and plus if it means anything to them this year I actually whent fot two days unlike the rest of the years when I jus went for one but how could a teacher go and tell me to put oil and bleach in my hair then when I was bout to stay up for myself little chuck little done had to go and stand in my way talking about how I didnt want to do it well how does he know what I do and dont wanna do. I should had pounded him into dust I mean how could a small stump take me out but still I didnt wanna end up next weeks school lunch. I mean who knows what little chuck little had in that pocket of his. So right then I began to think should i or should I not I mean who knows how crazy this guys is might just be as crazy as mean old Boo Radley. And I would probable end up just like Boos father stabed., bleeding, maybe even dead. Well as I backed up out of her class room I began to think how good it would feel to not hav to go back to school the next day hey maybe nexted year. Maybe next ill pass and go on to the next year. but still I wonder wat my papa's gonna cook to day hmmm... or more like what he hunt today. well what ever it is i hope I get the most out of all my brothers and sisters and me ...

Sixth Quote

'"Its not my stomach,' I said. 'Its my joints; they hurt when I move." -Francisco

I think this quote has to do with two of the questions the first would be number seven which is how Americans treat them in America and also question number two which is number five which is what herd ships do the character av to endure.

post num ber 2 the circiut

"The pounding of the rain on th roof woke me several times during the night. Every time I opened my eyes, I saw the burning tip of papa's cigarette glowing in the dark; Other times I herd the rattle of his aspirin bottle."-Fransisco

I think this has to do with the hardships the shard because it shows how they weren't perfect and the dad took out his depression out with cigarettes and aspirin. well I thought it had to do with it because it shows the feelings of the dad because usually people who don't like or enjoy their life's and need to get away...

I think if I was in Fransisco situation I would have instead of just sitting back and watching my father do that to himself I would have confronted him and told him how it effects him telling him how it feels watching him destroy himself. and since i would have been waking up over and over again i would stay up a little bit and accompanied him.

What do you think you would have done in his place?

"By Friday, when the sun finally came out, papa's aspirin bottle was empty and a pile of cigarettes butts covered the floor by his side of the bed."- Fransisco

I think this has to do with the hardships too because it describes how the night before was how he was contently smoking and taking aspirin. I think it describes that because cigarettes show how he just kept smoking away his problems.

I don't think it was a smart idea but still and i could relate to this quote because my aunt smokes and i don't think its the smartest thing she could be doing but since she just my aunt i should be able to respect that but if it was my dad or mom like in his case I think I would speak up and not let them do that to them.

what do you think you would do in their predicament?

breaking through quote number two

"things got worse when papa started having back problems and had trouble picking crops. luckily, in the winter of 1957,Roberto found a part-time job working as a janitor at Main Street Elementary School in Santa Maria, California."- Fransisco

This quote that I found book has to do with some of the hardships they had to go through because it explains how when their dad couldn't really work any more the next man of the house hold stepped up to the plate and took control and in that event found a job to help supplies his family.

I could relate to this quote because in my house hold my dad supplies us by us I mean my family and I think if he were to get injured that another person in my family would have to step up to the plate and get a job to help pay for the bills.

what do you think your family would have done in their position?

Breaking Through

Quote Number 1

"from the day on, the next ten years, while we traveled from place throughout California, fallowing the cops and living in migrant labor camps, I feared been caught by the border patrol."-Fransisco

I think that this quote has to do with some of the hardships they had to go through because they have to live with the fear of being capsured. for example they have to always stay on their guard I know if i was in that predicament i wouldn't be able to sleep.

I can relate to this qoute because my uncle came to this country illegaly and which in a way made him an illegal immigrant and he was always on his toes about the border patrol but the differnce is that their whole family was together and nice to each other , and my uncle was just straight out rude.

how do you think would would have acted if your family was on the run?

The circuit 3rd posting

The Circuit

page 57 "El Perico, my close friend, had a tragic ending."-Fransisco

I think this tells a little about the hard ships that Fransisco and his family had to go though when they came to America because it talks about the loss of a friend El perico. which I understand is something harsh some people have to go though in life but moving to a new country and when you live there the first hard ship is death thats pretty harsh. It in a way tells us that Fransisco is a very strong person not just in life also in the book.

I think if i had to go thought that i would go into depression because death is something very hard to deal with. but i don't think out of the madness i would shed a tear because death is just something no one could stop so theres no point in morning over that because i think when some body goes they go because they have to because it was their time. god gives lives and he takes live, what i don't get if some one dies people cry even if they didn't know them.

how do you think you would have dealt with the situation?

"Mama then cooked the tortilla on a comal on one of the two burners of our small kerosene stove. She usually cooked a pot of beans on the other burner." - Fransisco pg 64

This has to do wit how the characters try to keep their culture alive because tortillas and beans are a typical Mexican dish which means at some point their trying to keep their Mexican culture alive though their family's dishes. for example they could cook hamburgers or pasta but they cook beans and tortillas so in a way their keeping their tradition alive through their family meals.

I can relate to this quote because i know my family eats some of these meals and now that I think about it it helps us keep our traditions alive for example my family eats a lot of different food but still we always end up coming back to some good old Mexican style home cooking. so basically I'm trying to say that food help
keep family's traditions alive.

So how does your family keeps their traditions alive through food?

"I did not know what California was either, but papas eyes sparkled whenever he talked about it with mama and his friends." Pg.1

It guess it would have to do with what the journey was coming to America they had to deal with a lot of anxiety and excitement. By anxiety I mean they have to wait the whole journey wondering how their new lives would be in America. And for the excitement I think it effects the journey because it make the journey more tough and longer because they cant get their mind off of it.

Do you think Francisco understands why his dad is getting all worked up about California?

"We traveled for two days and nights. During the night, we didn't get much sleep. The wooden seats were hard, and the train made loud noises, blowing its whistle and grinding it's brakes."

It guess it would have to do with what the journey was coming to America because it describes how their journey took two days and nights. It was hard for them because they had very little sleep because the woolden seats were unconformable. the whistling and braking didn't help them either I know i wouldn't be able to fall asleep with that noise.

How do you think you would have felt in this predicament and why?

My Thoughts On Immigration

From Haven to Home

I feel that the purpose of this field trip was so that we would learn how immigrants shaped our country mostly Jewish. I think that they shaped our country though their jobs that they had. The Jews ran many jobs for instants one of the Jewish immigrants created the Barbie. Some of them ran in the military but unfortunately when they wanted to join the army to fight for our country they had to pay. They also started Las Vegas to be the sin city it is today. unfortunately they weren't allowed in certain states like Tennessee and Kentucky because of some one of their generals. When they felt like some thing was unfair they fought for what they believed in for example when the price on regular meat was nine cents the price for the kosher meat was eighteen cents. Compared to now thats not a lot of money but back then that was a lot so the Jewish women of the communities gathered together and protested twenty thousand women. They got to the point to where they were were taking the meat and burning it in the street in front of the store. So after a long but hard wait the butchers finally lowered the price of kosher meat to four teen cents it wasn't no nine cents but they settled for the four teen cent kosher meat. Through out their lives they've always struggled for what was right. For example Leo Frank was charged for murdering a fifteen year old girl. Even the students struggled ,the struggled with soviet Jewry. The Jews were eventually able to create their own kosher cook book and create their own cherry wine. Around that time they began coming out in big theatrical hits such as Funny Girl and Funny Lady.

Children of Immigrants

The photograph that I choose was Berenice Baudill, by sixteen year old Arturo. In the photo you can see a fist of empowerment. In the picture the fist is holding a blue ribbon that says las mujeres de juarez presente. In his other pictures the girls were painting this picture and several others. I choose this picture because its different then other pictures for example its the only picture that isn't of a person it just of a painting.

The quote that I choose was called From Between Cultures and its by Denis Tuzinova from Bosnia the quote is “If we stay in this Bosnia we would have probably been killed although no one can predict the future, just imagine a seven year old child wondering if he would be killed the next day or spared in this world we call home”i picked this quote because in its telling the brutal truth about how the would is and hes not afraid of saying what he think about the world and thats what I like about it. And how he just voices are opinion without hesitation.

Immigration Reflection

A immigrant is somebody that moved from one country to another country. Maybe they move from one country to another because their economy is bad, Or they don't agree with their laws, Or they want a new experience. Our country offers more freedom then other countrys, more individuality, and more opportunities. Our country has been effected by immagration in both positive and negitive ways. Our population has grow more due to the immagration, I think Our language has changed compared to other country like for example with the stores some of them have more bilingual staff members then others and its not just store some schools too. Our country's food has changed allot too because in some restaurants they serve Mexican food, Chinese food, Italian food..etc which in a way makes our country more diverse. Our laws haven't really changed but they have added more to help immigrants but yet it also has laws which are restricting them. Well I think theirs not allot immigration changed about my life but I guess the laws would let me meet more people of variety and not just the usual standard Americans. it alows me to combine both my mexican haritage and my american culture together. it also add more type of food to try because if we all just kept eating the same thing over and over again it would eventually get boring and old. To me America is the country made up of immigrates.

THE GREAT GATSBY

THE GREAT GATSBY

The Great Gatsby is tragic and very dramatic story about a very wealthy man named Jay Gatsby

I felt that I disagreed with the title of the book because I know it's mostly about Gatsby but its through the eyes of Nick and mostly about Gatsby's love for daisy. When Gatsby took the blame for daisy and I didn't really enjoy it because why would you sign on to something that you didn't' do because I know that if I didn't do something I wouldn't sign on to it no matter how strong my feeling for her are. I mean daisy's guilty how can she just let Gatsby take the blame for her I thought she stated the she loved, or had affection for him. I thought people usually said if you love something then let it free but what she did was she loved someone and let them take the blame for the murder. But I would probable do the same thing because she waited for but he never came instead he comes back a couple of years later.

I was very confused how daisy just killed Myrtle what drove her to kill I mean I've herd of pay back but never leading to murder. And if myrtles husband really new would he have still killed Gatsby. I think that Gatsby didn't do anything wrong but take the blame for daisy if he wouldn't have taken the blame what would have happened to Gatsby and especially daisy I mean because she my favorite in the book because what she overcame especially how long she waited for Gatsby.

I enjoyed the book when Gatsby died because he had daisy waiting for so long and and basically he proved his love for her but as a end to himself.

I don't really agree with how the author didn't have anyone show up to his funeral. I find the very depressing because that means that Gatsby has no real friends which I would hate if that happened to me..

I would suggest this book more to people who like bad story's with unhappy endings. I would more suggest this type of book to adults because it's not really a type of kid book because it talks about crime mostly. it gets very boring but you can't just skip a part because your more an likely to end up just getting confused because I know at times I got confused

ENRIQUE'S JOURNEY

Juan Carrillo

ENRIQUE'S JOURNEY

I felt that I disagreed with the title because it doesn't make any sense well it kind of does but I don't agree with it because it's called Enrique's journey and half way through the book he basically finishes his journey and is with his mom, it's more about his struggle in life and how he's trying to chase happiness but hey what book doesn't have a main character chasing the same thing .also I don't agree with how on the back of the book it makes it sound like he will do anything just to be reunited with his mom but yet he just keeps on arguing with her when he finally gets there which make me feel like he's acting like ungrateful little brat. I was very confused how in the beginning he left behind everything he had just so he can go and join his mom in America and how did she get over there in the first place because they said that it's harder for girl because they usually have to face rape but yet Enrique couldn't make it by himself I mean because he had to have his mom go and hire a smuggler to cross him over and get him to her.

I enjoyed the book in the beginning because it's filled with a lot of heart break and misunderstanding but yet in a way that give Enrique hope and courage to find his mom. Mostly I enjoyed it when him and his mom were reunited because at first I thought she would have not cared for him because she's haven't seen him in so long.

I Felt that they could have done better around the end because they kind of rush it at the end I mean so many thing went by tour the end they could have definitely slowed it down. They also could have added more quotes because it didn't have many it was kind of mostly based off of what he saw and herd which I thought he would have talked more.

I think I would have liked it more if they would have talked more about his journey and if it had more action . I would suggest this book for those who like realistic type of books but yet I would not suggest it because it get s very annoying the way they just keep Enrique in a circle because e they just keep him getting on a train then just getting kicked off he basically doesn't move for a while just getting on and off.

I would more suggest this type of book to adults because it's not really a type of kid book because it talks about rape drugs and crime mostly I would just suggest it for teens because it's more of in a teen setting with home Enrique's a teen in most of the book but yet not to just any teen the type who will actually sit and read it because at times it gets very boring but you can't just skip a part because your more an likely to end up just getting confused because I know at times I got confused .I wouldn't suggest it for any adult ether because it more relating to teens and not really adults like for example wouldn't it be weird if you find an old lady reading a book about drugs and crimes .

LORD OF THE FLIES

Perspective: PIGGY
Chapter 1 Sound Of The Shell

where's the plane? where the man with the horn? where am I? I began to wonder to myself , are there any other survivor's as I was walking I began to see the boy with the fair hair.

As I chased after him I began him asking questions like who are you and are their any other survivors is their food people anyone he just kept ignoring me.and at first i had a problem chasing after him because my asma began to act up all that was going through my head was I'm going to die and never be rescued. as we began to stumble across a beach the water was blue and the next thing I knew he was in the water and it kept hitting me how he laugh. It brought back some old memory that I thought I would never have to relive the laughter and the name calling.

As we walk along the beach we noticed in the sand that their was the same type shell my friend had when I told him the story he laughed at first but then he got exited. As pull the conch out of the water and blew it at first the thought their might be other but I began to thing that what if theirs no other what if they all died in the crash.

As the kids arrived so did the monster it was black and all gloomy and the way it crawled out from the jungle just gave my the creepers. At first the sun blocked are view from seeing it's face. As it got closer we were able to see the monster turn into a small group of boys in black cloths. One of boys came out of the group as the group of boys behinde me shuck so did I."STOP" the boy in the front comanded those erapeting words in me head.

Ralph demanded a meeting but at first not many of the boys wanted to listin. because they didnt listin Ralph shouted for the meeting and the jungle got quiet the boy in the black began to start a conversation with ralph.

soon after the meeting the tree boys took of .Ralph simon and jack began to walk ind to the jungle "what about me?"I demanded but all that came out of ralph was
"go back piggy!"at first it brought back some memorys like when i was in school and i was the kid that would be left out.
